Jeff Kleiman is a retired PhD History Professor with the UW system. He taught history at the Marshfield UW Campus until his retirement in 2023. His area of expertise is World War ll, specifically the Holocaust. He has also written a book on the furniture makers strike in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1911 and is a co-author for the Marshfield History text.

Professor Kleiman, “For a number of years, some parents have voiced concerns that school children fail to learn 'the real history' of the United States. Why does this debate exist and what is its significance? What, if anything, should we do about this as it impacts the courses of study offered by an educational institution through the entire range of grades? How do we go about it?”

Attendees will learn and discuss ways to approach talking about this difficult topic.

Office Hours: Monday - Wednesday, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. | Thursday - Friday, by appointment
